Week 5 2011

Well this week we got SLAMMED with the BLIZZARD of 2011. Caleb had 2 snow days and I had 3. This is a very rare occasion for my school district but it was a wonderful little break away from school (for a small moment I felt like i was back in Pennsylvania going to school for we always had delays and cancellations).

Sunday was Super Bowl Sunday and my hometown team was playing in the big game this year...The Pittsburgh Steelers. The outcome was not in their favor but i was fun to watch the game with my family and our friends Vince and Sara. They are expecting little Shawn any day now.

Well the mini vacation was nice this week but we are ready for Spring and to see all this snow MELT away. By the way...the ground hog did not see his shadow so Spring is right around the corner!

Week 4 2011

Not a whole lot to talk about this week. Winter is upon us and I know that we are all looking forward to Spring Break. Caleb played in his basketball game again this weekend and did a great job. He really enjoys playing and his skills are improving each week. Olivia is trying daily to crawl but just hasn't got all the motions to work together. Week 3 2011

Wow January has blown by and February will be here before we know it.

Olivia is enjoying eating cereal now twice a day. Sometimes she plays with it more than she eats it but oh well. She likes to try and grab the spoon out of our hands when we are feeding her.

We have taken a huge step and she is now OFFICIALLY sleeping in her crib in her room full time! Sad that we have to put the bassinet away...but so proud of our little girl.

Caleb is still playing basketball. This week he had his team and individual pictures taken. I didn't get any pictures of him playing basketball this week. I thought we got there in plenty of time for his game but the Boys and Girls Club decided to start it early so Olivia and I only got to see the last 5 minutes. Of course he had played the first 3 quarters and was sitting out the last one.

This week our family made a big purchase. We bought a new car!

Week 2 2011

Well another week into the books for the Thornberry's. We have had a wonderful week. This week Olivia turned 5 months old (it is amazing how fast the time goes by). She is being quite the little explorer and Caleb started his basketball games.

Olivia 5 Months 1/10/11

Olivia has discovered her tongue. She loves to make noises with it and stick it out. She watches if we make the same noises with our tongues. She has also discovered her feet and enjoys bringing them up to her mouth. She is becoming more and more mobile (still just rolling to the right) but now will roll from her belly to her back.

Caleb had his first basketball game yesterday. They practice for 30 minutes then play their game for 20 minutes. The boys and girls club doesn't put a lot of emphasis on who wins or loses but mainly that the kids are learning skills and having a good time. Caleb scored 4 points in his game this weekend. He played in 3 of the 4 five minute quarters.

Today we exchanged Christmas gifts with Jim's dad, step mom and sister. Below you will find a few pictures. It was nice getting to spend time with everyone.

Week 1 2011

Well my own personal goal this year to is blog at least once a week. Maybe on special occasions I will blog a few more times but once I think for now is a good goal. Well 2010 was a wonderful year (it had its share of ups and downs) and I cannot wait to see what 2011 brings!

We spent New Years weekend in Pennsylvania visiting our family and friends on the east coast. It was a great trip and we all had a wonderful time (even though mom and dad were both sick on New Years Day). Below are some pictures from our visit!

Caleb and I both started back to school this week. Caleb has already asked how many days until summer vacation! Caleb also started basketball at the boys and girls club. Games start this week so pictures and videos will be posted at a later date.

Olivia is still just rolling to one side. We started putting her in the jumperoo more this month and now she is a pro at it. She loves to jump, jump, jump! She is starting to grab at things in front of her when we are holding her. We think teeth are on there way for she puts EVERYTHING into her mouth! She is still sleeping in the bassinet but hopefully by months end mommy will have made the transition to her crib. She is taking naps in the crib now so I think that is a good start!

Well it's getting late and Monday morning will be here before we know it! Have a wonderful week!

Merry Christmas 2010!!

We would like to wish you all a happy new year to come and hope that your Christmas was full of love and fun times that you will all remember! We had a wonderful Christmas with the kids even though Jim and I were under the weather for most of it (a quick 24 hour bug). As you can see in the pictures below (just a select few from our fun filled afternoon) the kids had a wonderful Christmas! Caleb was such a big helper for his sister when it came time to open her gifts! Enjoy!!!
